Make sure you have enough disk space on the disk... it will need extra disk space when expanding the virtual disk.
To expand a virtual, go to the setting of the virtual machine, select the HD, and select the disk you would like to expand. Take in the new size and click "Apply".
You will need to expand the partition as well (in the virtual machine).
