Windows 7 Stereo Mix

If you want to record whatever it is playing on your computer, there is a simple way to do it.

• Right click on the "Speakers" from the Task Bar 
• Select "Recording devices"
• Right click in the tab and check "Show Disabled Devices" (if it is not checked)
• Right click on "Stereo Mix" and select "Enable"

Use any recording software such as Audacity and select "Stereo Mix" as your input device.

Windows 7 - missing LPK.dll

Issues:

• having this error when I tried to open FireFox, IE and some other applications

Solutions:

• in Save Mode
• Open cmd "Run as Administrator"
• enter "sfc /scannow"

Delete hiberfil.sys in Windows 7

Control Panel
Power Options
Change plan settings (the selected Preferred plans)
Change advanced power settings
Allow hybrid sleep - Off

Run cmd as Administrator
Type "powercfg -h off"

Windows Ultimate N Windows Media

The Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N or Windows 7 KN will install Media Player and related technologies on a computer running Windows 7 N or Windows 7 KN editions, or these editions with Service Pack 1. For further information, please see http://support.microsoft.com and query the Knowledge Base for the article number KB968211.

The reason I need to install the Windows Media back is Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop are looking for the DLL.

Quick Launch Toolbar in Windows 7

Add the following folder as new toolbar (right click on task bar, select Toolbars, New toolbar...) :

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Problem Steps Recorder

Microsoft has added a feature to Windows 7 that can help you diagnose a problem by actually looking at a recording of the problem.

• Start, PSR, <Enter>
• The Problem Steps Recorder will appear on the screen
• Click <Start Record> to record the steps of what happening on the screen (include all monitors)
• and stopping the recording when done (and add some comments if you want)
• save the file (a mht file inside a zip file)

when reading the generated mht file in the browser, you can even view all the steps in a slide show, very cool.

Shortcuts for Windows functions

• Right click on your Desktop and select New Folder
• Name the folder with a name of your choosing
• After the name, put in a period and then the following string: {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} 
• Your entry for the name should look like this: <folder name>.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} 
• press the Enter key
